Mermaid Beach is a quiet, tree-lined coastal neighbourhood between Broadbeach and Miami Beach — no high-rises, just wide streets, mature gardens, and a laid-back village feel where locals outnumber tourists. The food scene is incredible for a residential suburb. Within walking distance: BSKT and Bam Bam Bakehouse for brunch, Etsu Izakaya for Japanese, Le Cafe Gourmand for French pastries, and the Mermaid Beach Surf Club for sunset drinks with ocean views. The Nobby Beach dining strip next door adds Italian, Asian fusion, and cozy cocktail bars. The beach is wide, uncrowded, and patrolled by lifeguards — great for swimming and surfing. Pacific Fair shopping centre is a 5-minute drive, Miami Marketta night market is a 10-minute walk on weekends, and Burleigh Heads National Park is just 10 minutes south.
